Woman attacked in her Church Point home; suspect arrested on sexual assault and other charges | Crime

CHURCH POINT, Louisiana (KADN) – Church Point police said the man suspected of attacking a woman in her home Tuesday has been arrested on several charges.

Investigators said Tyerice Harmon, 24, was initially booked into the Church Point Police Department Jail on charges of sexual assault, burglary and second-degree assault and then transferred to the Acadia Parish Jail.

They added that on Tuesday, June 18, around 9:30 a.m., CPPD was contacted about a home invasion on North Kelly Street where a woman was assaulted.

According to investigators, the victim told officers that a man broke into her home, attacked her and sexually abused her.

They added that the investigation pointed to Harmon as a suspect and he was arrested.
