Lebanese man suspected of being an Israeli spy after accidentally filming an attack

A Lebanese civilian got into trouble on Wednesday because of a recording of an IDF attack in Lebanon and was forced to surrender to intelligence, Lebanese media reported.

The reason for this self-reporting was that he had filmed the target of the Israeli attack before the attack, thus recording the moment of the bombing. This had reportedly led to social media users speculating that he had known about the planned attack in advance and therefore accusing him of being a spy for Israel.

The man provided intelligence services with lengthy documentation of the attack. According to reports from Lebanon, there was drone activity in the area that caught his attention and prompted him to film. The massive attack captured on camera was, he said, completely random.

Incident occurred after further IDF attacks in Lebanon

This report came hours after Israeli Air Force fighter jets attacked a Hezbollah military structure in the Tsur area and other infrastructure in the town of Khiam in southern Lebanon.

In addition, it was reported that Israel successfully intercepted a suspicious aerial target from Lebanese airspace on Wednesday morning, but it did not cross the Israeli border.

The Israeli Defense Forces also stated that after the rocket sirens were sounded in the Kiryat Shmona area, about 15 rocket launches were registered from Lebanese territory, some of which were successfully intercepted by the air defense fighters. There were no casualties in the attack. The Israeli Defense Forces then attacked the firing sources with artillery.
