One arrested, another at large after shooting following large brawl in Forney | Crime

FORNEY, Texas – Forney police are investigating a “large brawl” that resulted in a shooting Sunday night.

On June 16, 2024 at approximately 7:00 p.m., Forney Police responded to a reported large fight with gunfire.

Fortunately, according to police, no one was hit by gunfire.

In an update, police said one suspect was in custody and another fled the scene before police arrived.

“TThe second suspect fled the scene in a vehicle and is believed to no longer be in the area,” the department said in a statement. “The investigation is ongoing.”

Authorities have advised residents to avoid the area as the investigation is ongoing and the suspect is still at large. The suspect is described as a black male wearing a red hoodie and was last seen on foot near Heritage Hill.

Residents near Carl C Senter and Heritage Hill are urged to check their Ring cameras for suspicious activity. Anyone with information is asked to contact Forney Police at (972) 564-7600.
