Nine people arrested for solicitation of sex in Lynn

LYNN – Nine people were arrested Thursday, June 13, on charges of sexual abuse for payment and violating a city ordinance by purchasing or attempting to purchase sexual favors.

In a statement to the Item, police Lt. Richard Connick confirmed that the arrests were made as part of an operation conducted in conjunction with the FBI’s Violent Crimes Against Children and Human Trafficking Task Force downtown to investigate “complaints from the public about sex trafficking.”

Connick added that another purpose of the operation is to “locate victims of sex trafficking and offer assistance to victims.”

Arrested were: Roberto Baez, 50, Michael Brady, 38, George Dolo, 70, Wilson Nolasco-Lopez, 25, Xaviel Paredes, 31, Odige Theodule, 20, Richard Sullivan, 34, and January Mkumbo, 44.

Seven of those arrested are from Lynn.

Connick said, “We would like to thank our law enforcement partners, including the numerous officers from surrounding cities and towns who assisted (in the operation), including the Boston Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.”
