YouTuber Benny Potter killed in car crash in Colorado

DENVER (KDVR) – Authorities announced Tuesday that 40-year-old Benny Potter, a popular YouTube star and Colorado resident, was the victim of a car crash.

The accident occurred around 9:19 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, on Interstate 25 near Fort Collins, according to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP).

Potter was driving his silver Toyota 4Runner when it left the right shoulder of the highway, police said. Potter continued to cross the access road that runs parallel to the highway before the vehicle rolled over several times.

According to CSP, Potter was wearing a seatbelt, but succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. He was the only person in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved.

Potter ran a popular YouTube channel called Comicstorian, which reached 3.03 million subscribers.

His wife Nathalie published the news on Monday on the social media platform X.

“Ben has spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies,” the announcement said. “His love of engaging stories and well-written characters is what drew him to YouTube.”

The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, but CSP said there is no evidence that vehicle impairment or excessive speed was involved.
