Buffalo Tom reveals Please Come To Boston weekend

Buffalo Tom I want everyone to come to Boston this fall. Or at least a very close city.

The beloved indie band just released their 10th studio album Jumping rope last month, detailed their own weekend-long music festival. It’s called Please Come To Boston, it runs November 1-3, and takes place at the Arts at The Armory in Somerville.

The three-day festival, consisting of Friday and Saturday evening festivities and a Sunday matinee, features music, arts, comedy, food and wine, and literature. Buffalo Tom will perform live each day and play a full album for each set, as well as other songs from their 40-year career: Let me come Friday; Big Red Letter Day SATURDAY; And Sleepy eyes on Sunday.

Also participating: comedy sets from Eugene Mirman and Dave Hill; readings from Tom Perotta, Bill Janovitz and more; plus a Sunday morning session of Punk Rock Aerobics with Hilken Mancini and Tom Maginnis. Also featured are “surprise guests and movies,” as well as a wine and beer selection, food trucks and specialty Buffalo Tom items.

“Hopefully as a recurring event in the fall, it’s an invitation to travel to New England to see us perform unique album sets,” says Chris Colbourn. “And discover a little of what has inspired us over the last 40 years since we moved here – the neighborhoods of our hometown, the forests and beaches, the bars, clubs and restaurants – are the setting and muse of so many our songs”

Tickets go on sale Friday, June 14 and will cost $70 for a one-day pass and $237 for a three-day VIP pass, which includes a limited-edition set of a commemorative poster, tote bag everything and a hat.
