An overdose trend/spike warning was issued in Wheeling on Sunday

WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) — Wheeling Police issued an alert Sunday morning about possible overdose trends or spikes

People at risk are urged to have access to Narcan or naloxone and to call 911 to report an overdose.


The warning is in effect for the next 48-96 hours. Police point out that Narcan is available at the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

These alerts are triggered when at least three overdoses are registered within one or two days and in the same geographic region.
