Police report: Calverton man dies in motorcycle accident

According to police, a Calverton man died Wednesday from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident on Saturday.

On June 1, at approximately 8:55 p.m., Riverhead Police responded to a report of a car crash involving a motorcycle near Grove Street and South Oakland Drive in Riverhead.

A motorcycle was found traveling south on Grove, crossing South Oakland and crashing into a residential building, police said.

The driver of the motorcycle, Phillippe Robinette, 40, suffered serious injuries and was taken by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center, where he was treated but died, police said.

The Riverhead Criminal Investigation Department and the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Team assisted in the investigation. The accident does not appear to be of a criminal nature at this time.

• On May 27, at approximately 11:35 p.m., the owner of Nick’s Nook Deli on Hulse Landing Road in Wading River called police to report a burglary.

Riverhead Police responded and found that an unknown person had broken the front door window and entered the building.

The suspect stole one of the cash registers and approximately $100 in cash and then left the area in an unknown direction.

The people named in the police reports have not been convicted of any crime or offense. The charges against them may later be reduced or dropped, or they may be found not guilty.
