A 24-year-old oil rig worker died on Tuesday afternoon when a storm caused the 16-meter-high oil rig to tip over. The rig was located on the border between Simpson County and Smith County, near Highway 28 and Mangum Garner Road.

Coroner Terry Tutor said the young man was still strapped into his protective gear at the time of the accident. The well is owned by Challenger Deepwell Servicing.
