The Bizarre Story Behind Why Buffalo Bills Fans Are Breaking Tables

Buffalo Bills fans have become synonymous with throwing raucous pregame parties, most notably jumping through folding tables.

We are all aware that this happens, but have you ever wondered Why they do that ?

If you haven’t seen this hysterical spectacle, let me show you a few examples:

As social media has grown and evolved, the phenomenon of Bills fans destroying their tables has grown with it. Most recently, a couple went viral on X for posting a video showing them jumping through a table after cutting the cake at their wedding reception.

So why is all this happening? Of all the things that could unite a team’s fan base, why did Buffalo fans choose this? According to a Times Union article, some Bills fans point to this 2015 video as the start of it all:

That video led to this, which was filmed a week later:

From that point on, the trend evolved and grew, and is now a staple of tailgating parties outside Highmark Stadium. Some people lit fires at their tables before jumping across them, while others jumped from the tops of porta-potties and other tall objects.

It’s entertaining, it’s crazy, it’s a little dangerous, and it doesn’t go anywhere. We love you, Bills Mafia.
