Houston-area man charged with murder also linked to disappearance of another young woman

A missing person case in Baytown appears to have a connection to a murder case in Houston.

The murder victim, Megan Rouse, 24, was found last month on a deserted road in southwest Houston.

Police, while canvassing the area, found surveillance video they believe showed Quan Flowers’ vehicle leaving the area at the time of the killing on May 3.

Court documents reveal Rouse was last seen alive at a convenience store less than a half-mile from the home where Flowers was staying.

Flowers has already had numerous run-ins with the law.

During the investigation, police linked Flowers to a missing persons case in Baytown.

Kalie Goodwin, 29, was last seen on April 21, 2024. A day later, according to the same charging document, Goodwin’s mother received a terrifying phone call from kidnappers demanding a ransom.

During the call, Goodwin’s mother reports that she could hear her daughter screaming in the background.

Flowers’ vehicle was also linked to this case.

“The last time I saw her, she was in one piece,” Flowers told investigators, according to the court document.

Flowers has not been charged with this crime.

As of Wednesday, Flowers remained in the Harris County Jail without bond, facing a murder charge and a drug possession charge.
