Houston police are investigating the connection between the Montrose attack in April and a similar assault on an older man in West Gray a week later

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Houston Police Department is asking for help finding a suspect accused of assaulting a Montrose man.

Greg Audel told ABC13 he was walking his dog when he was hit by a stranger he didn’t know.

The 57-year-old said he tried to get away from the man, but was eventually chased down the street, where he said the suspect continued to hit him until that passers-by intervene.

He said the attack happened in early April near Waugh Drive and Pierce Street in Montrose.

“He was straddling me on his lap and he was just hitting me,” Audel said.

Police have released a portrait of the man they believe was involved in the attack.

Police also confirmed to ABC13 that they believe the man who attacked Audel may be the same person who attacked an older man about a week later.

Audel said he believed the man involved in that attack was the same man who attacked him after looking at photos released by police.

HPD encourages anyone who may recognize the suspect to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-308-8800.
