Drew Gordon dies in car accident

Drew Gordon is the older brother of Denver Nuggets star Aaron Gordon. Drew played for the 76ers and college football for New Mexico and UCLA.

PORTLAND, Oregon – Former NBA player Drew Gordon, the older brother of Nuggets power forward Aaron Gordon, has died in a car accident.

The 33-year-old from San Jose played for the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2014/15 season. In college, he played for New Mexico and UCLA and was also active as a professional abroad and in the USA. He has three children.

According to Marc Spears, senior NBA writer for ESPN, the accident occurred in Portland, Oregon.

“The Denver Nuggets organization is devastated to learn of the tragic passing of Drew Gordon,” the team said in a post on X on Thursday night. “Drew was far too young to leave this world, but his legacy will live on forever through his three beautiful children and all of his loved ones. Our thoughts are with Aaron and the Gordon family during this extremely difficult time.”

News of Drew’s death has spread throughout social media and the basketball community, prompting players, coaches, fans and others to post their condolences for him on X.
