Domestic call delays layoffs in Pennsbury and Neshaminy on Thursday

According to police, some students in two neighboring counties were canceled Thursday afternoon due to police action related to a domestic call in Falls Township.

Falls Township police responded to a home on Andover Road around 2 p.m. after a neighbor heard gunshots, according to Falls Lt. Christopher Clark. It turned out someone inside the home had thrown a chair through a window into the home.

Police tried for hours to locate the man inside the home, but he refused to leave. After determining there was no weapon involved, police entered the home and took the suspect into custody on probation, Clark said.

The Pennsbury School District also sent parents a notice shortly before 3:30 p.m. that it had been notified by Falls Township police that it could dismiss students at the usual time and that the dismissal would be monitored by police.

The statement said students who live on or near Andover Road will be held at Oxford Valley Elementary until the area is cleared.
