2 men arrested after knife attack in Cherry Valley

CHERRY VALLEY, Ill. (WIFR) – Two men were arrested in connection with a May 20 stabbing attack in Cherry Valley.

Kyle H. Condon, 25, of Rockford and Steven D. Mendez, 24, of Chicago, are both charged with aggravated assault and use of a deadly weapon.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., officers were called to the 1800 block of Millbrook Lane for a report of a stabbing. Police said they found two injured people, with one person stabbed nine times. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department conducted an investigation and arrested the two suspects.
