Buffalo’s Eli Patterson signs with Northwest College for hoops

Buffalo High School’s Eli Patterson is continuing his basketball career after committing to the Northwest College Trappers in Powell. Patterson was a four-time all-state selection and four-year starter for the Bison. He helped Buffalo qualify for the 3A state basketball tournament all four years of his prep career. This included two third-place finishes in 2021 and 2022.

During his senior season, Patterson averaged 14.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. He helped the Bison win the 3A Northeast Conference championship in the regular season and finish second in the 3A East regional tournament. Buffalo finished with a 14-12 overall record and a 6-0 record in championship games. Patterson shot 45 percent from the field and 76 percent from the free throw line. He also averaged 3.3 assists and 3.8 steals per game. His steals per game tied him for first place in 3A boys basketball. Patterson was in the top ten in five statistical categories in 3A. He also surpassed 1,000 career points during the 2023-24 season.

As a junior in the 2023 season, Patterson averaged 15.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 1.9 blocked shots per game. Buffalo went 15-10 and qualified for the 3A state basketball tournament. They were 6-0 and won the Northeast Quadrant 3A Conference.

Patterson averaged 12.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.6 steals per game as a sophomore during the 2022 season. Buffalo was 19-9 and finished at the third place in the state tournament.

In his 2021 freshman year, Patterson contributed 11.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. The Bison went 16-7 this season and placed third at the state tournament.

He was also an all-state football player at Buffalo High School during the 2023 season.
