Isolated rain and thunderstorms this afternoon

Rain and storm areas have appeared today as planned. The strongest cells may contain small hail and gusty winds, but widespread severe weather is unlikely. Each storm may bring dangerous lightning and torrential rain that may lead to local flooding. Temperatures will reach the 15 degree mark in most places. Rain will gradually taper off during the evening.

Skies will clear tonight and there will be plenty of sunshine overall on Wednesday. Temperatures will remain at 15 degrees and a cool breeze will blow from the northeast. A light frost is possible in the Northwoods late Wednesday evening, with lows falling to -1 degrees. The Fox Valley will remain too warm for that.

By the end of the working week temperatures will rise above 20 degrees and I expect it to stay dry until Friday.

A few showers and thunderstorms are possible at times Friday night through Tuesday of next week. The exact timing of these precipitation events is uncertain at this time. Regardless, next weekend does NOT look like a complete rainout. Temperatures should be in the 80s through Sunday and early next week…with more humidity.
