Puppies are treated after being abandoned in the rain outside Upstate police station

WELLFORD, SC (FOX Carolina) – Wellford City Police are reminding people not to turn animals in to police after seven puppies were found outside in the rain early this morning.

Officials said the puppies were dropped off sometime on May 27 and were not found until an officer looked in the crate and found them.

Officials say the puppies are currently in Greenville where they are being treated and prepared for adoption.

In a post, officials reminded people that they can call and let them know at any time if they have animals they don’t want or can’t care for.
