Cyclist killed by car in Osceola County, FHP says – Orlando Sentinel

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 59-year-old cyclist was killed early Sunday morning when a car collided with him on Florence Villa Grove Road in Osceola County.

The man was riding eastbound on Florence Villa Grove Road in the bike lane toward Westside Boulevard just before 9 a.m., FHP said. A 2021 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 24-year-old man failed to maintain its lane and struck the rear of the cyclist, FHP said.

The cyclist was taken to Orlando Health South Lake Hospital, where he died, FHP said.

The 24-year-old driver and his two male passengers, ages 21 and 20, remained at the scene of the accident and suffered no injuries, the FHP said.

The crash remains under investigation.
