Two men arrested after road rage shooting

The suspects, identified as 45-year-old Chad Morrow of Cocoa and 52-year-old Chad McAninch of Port St. John, were charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. Saturday when officers responded to reports of a shooting on State Road 46 in the Mims area.

According to the victims, they were traveling east when a black Dodge pickup truck began to tailgate their SUV.

The situation escalated when the truck overtook her, pushed her off the road and stopped abruptly in front of her vehicle.

Two men got out of the pickup truck and opened fire on the victims’ SUV. Remarkably, despite the hail of bullets, no one was injured.

Officers later discovered nine bullet holes in the vehicle and a broken passenger window.

Independent witnesses confirmed the victims’ statements and provided investigators with important information in their investigations.

The victims immediately called 911 and followed the suspects’ truck from a safe distance into Brevard County.

Brevard County Sheriff’s officers quickly located the suspects’ vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Both Morrow and McAninch were arrested without further incident.

The couple in the SUV that was attacked had their three children – ages 6, 4 and 18 months – in the back seat at the time of the shooting. Fortunately, the children were unharmed.

Authorities have charged Morrow and McAninch with two counts of attempted murder and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. They are currently in custody awaiting further court proceedings.

This shocking incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of road rage and the importance of maintaining composure behind the wheel.

Police officers praise the victims for their quick response and cooperation, which ultimately led to the rapid arrest of the suspects.

While the investigation is ongoing, authorities are asking anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward.
