Man sentenced to four years in prison for hit-and-run

Recent admissions to state/local prisons as reported by the Tehama County District Attorney’s Office.

2. RBPD – Humans vs. Ricky Marques Davenport (23CR2171); PC273a(a), Endangering a Child Probable Cause of Great Bodily Injury, a Felony.

Brief History: Officers responded to a hit and run accident. The defendant failed to stop at an intersection and collided with another vehicle. The defendant had minor children in the vehicle at the time of the accident. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison. This case was investigated by the Red Bluff Police Department.

3. RBPD – People vs. Jeffrey Eugene Tice_(23CR2002); PC245(a)(1), assault with a deadly weapon, a serious felony, PC368(B)(1), abuse of an elderly or vulnerable adult, a serious felony.

Brief history: Officers were investigating a report of a possible assault. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the defendant had attacked his elderly mother and inflicted serious injuries on her.

Sentenced to 3 years in prison. This case was investigated by the Red Bluff Police Department.

Current County Jail Commitments:

1. RBPD people against Elyssa Loree Ward, (23CR1137); VC23153(b), driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% causing personal injury, a felony.

Brief history: The defendant was driving under the influence of alcohol and caused a collision with another vehicle. The occupants of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries. The defendant fled the scene of the accident on foot and was later arrested by police officers.

Sentenced to 3 years suspended prison, 5 years probation, 150 days in county jail, and 80 hours of community service.

This case was investigated by the Red Bluff Police Department.

2. CPD – People vs. Patricia Elaine Velazquez, (20CR1231); (22CR3104); HS11378, possession

for sale of a controlled substance, a felony, PC1320(b), failure to appear on your own recognizance, a felony.

Brief History: 20CR1231: An officer conducted a traffic stop for a broken windshield. The defendant was the passenger in the vehicle and had multiple warrants for her arrest. A search of the defendant’s purse revealed a large amount of methamphetamine and unused plastic bags. A search of the defendant’s phone revealed text messages regarding sales. 22CR3104: Following her arrest for possession for sale of a controlled substance, the defendant was released on a bond and ordered to appear in court on November 15, 2022. The defendant failed to appear that day, violating her promise to appear.

Sentenced to 2 years probation, 240 days in county jail and 80 hours of community service.

These cases were investigated by the Corning Police Department.

3. TCSO – People vs. King Robinson, (24CR0743); PC273.5, Injury to a spouse, domestic partner, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend, or parent of a child, a felony.

Brief History: Officers responded to a domestic dispute between the defendant and the victim, who were in a relationship. During the dispute, the defendant pushed the victim against a wood stove, causing minor injuries.

Sentenced to 3 years probation, 90 days in county jail and 80 hours of community service.

The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office investigated this case.

4. RBPD people against Krause Andrew, (24CR558); (23CR1584); PC4573, Smuggling Contraband into Prison, a Felony, VC23103/23103.5, Wet Reckless, a Misdemeanor.

Brief History: 24CR558: Upon booking the defendant into the Tehama County Jail, he was given a warning about bringing prohibited items into the jail. The defendant understood the warning and denied possessing any prohibited items. The defendant was searched and the officer found a controlled substance and paraphernalia.

23CR1584: The defendant was found by an officer sitting in the driver’s seat of a moving vehicle, hunched over the steering wheel. It was determined that the defendant was driving under the influence of drugs.

Sentenced to 2 years probation, 90 days in jail and 80 hours of community service. This case was investigated by the Red Bluff Police Department.
