Murder investigation underway, mother of Fort Campbell soldier asks for information

CLARKSVILLE, Tennessee – The investigation into the death of a Fort Campbell soldier is ongoing.

Officials confirmed the soldier was 23-year-old Pfc. Katia Duenas-Aguilar of Mesquite, Texas. Duenas-Aguilar was a member of the division’s Combat Aviation Brigade.

On May 18, Clarksville Police stated on social media that police responded to a 911 call from a residence in the 900 block of Tiny Town Road at around 8:33 p.m.

Following the discovery of Duenas-Aguilar’s body and the investigation, her death was ruled a homicide.

In a press release from the League of United Latin American Citizens on Friday, May 24, Duenas Aguilar, the victim’s mother, asked the public for any information that could help investigators.

The press release goes on to say that the already $25,000 reward will be increased for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those suspected of being responsible for Duenas-Aguilar’s death. The exact amount of the increase will be announced on Saturday, the press release said.
