Karnataka bus stalls between highway and divider, 8 passengers escape fatal accident. View | Trending

On May 18, a catastrophic accident occurred involving a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus on the Bengaluru-Tumakuru highway. According to reports, the bus veered off the highway and crashed into the road divider near Madanayakanahalli Bridge, a place near Nelamangala.

According to The Indian Express, eight people, including the bus conductor and driver, sustained minor injuries. Although the accident caused a significant traffic jam lasting about an hour, police quickly helped everyone get off the bus safely.

Police told The New Indian Express that the driver took a right turn on the highway at 11am, lost control and hit the guardrail. A video has now been shared on social media showing the scene on the highway. The frightening video shows the bus hanging in the air between the highway and the divider.

Earlier, a bus caught fire on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway near Nuh district in Haryana. Nine people were killed in the accident and several others were injured.

According to reports, the event occurred while the bus was transporting devotees from Mathura, Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh to Chandigarh. According to police, there were around sixty people on board, all pilgrims from Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur. The cause of the fire remains unknown. Additionally, police said their team and the support of the local community managed to extinguish the fire in less than an hour.

Aftab Ahmed, Nuh MP, expressed sadness over the tragedy and reported that a number of people, including women, children and the elderly, were injured.
