FIR has brought charges against prayer leaders for sexually assaulting students

FAISALABAD: Police on Sunday registered an FIR against a prayer leader for sexually assaulting his student.

The FIR against the accused was registered at Nishat Abad police station on the complaint of the victim’s family.

According to the FIR, accused Mazhar sexually abused his 12-year-old student who went to him to receive religious instruction at a mosque in Chak 2 JB.

The student revealed to his family that the accused had sexually abused him for the past six months and had also made death threats to silence him.

Police have initiated investigations into the matter and are conducting raids to arrest the accused.
