U.S. Postal Worker Attacked and Robbed in College Hill; Reward for information

CINCINNATI (WXIX) — The United States Postal Service is offering a reward for information about the people who attacked and robbed a mail carrier Monday.

The postal worker was attacked and robbed May 6 in the 6000 block of Lantana Avenue in College Hill.

The U.S. Postal Service is offering a $150,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the suspects.

Crimes against postmen have been increasing for several years. Robberies have increased by 845 percent – from 64 in 2019 to 605 in 2023.

To protect postal employees, the Postal Inspection Service launched the “Safe Delivery” project in May 2023. Part of the strategy was to increase numbers in high-crime areas and use advanced techniques to investigate robberies.

Anyone with information about the suspects in the May 6 robbery should contact Cincinnati police at 513-352-3040.
