CHP issues Ebony Alert for missing 14-year-old Elk Grove girl last seen in May

ELK GROVE – An Ebony Alert has been issued for an Elk Grove teenager who has been missing for months.

The California Highway Patrol said 14-year-old Kamara Green was last seen on May 14.

The circumstances of her disappearance have not been disclosed, but the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office requested an Ebony Alert be issued because Green has been missing for so long.

Green was wearing a black turtleneck dress, black pants and flip-flops when she was last seen. No details have been released about where Green might be.

Anyone who sees Green is urged to call 911.

An Ebony Alert is a relatively new tool that law enforcement can use when a Black person disappears due to suspicious or unexplained circumstances. The law enabling Ebony Alerts went into effect in 2024.

CHP issued an Ebony Alert last week for a missing 12-year-old girl who may have been en route to the Sacramento area. The girl was soon found, authorities said.
