The Israeli military says it attacked Hezbollah targets “deep inside Lebanese territory.”

Weapons depots and the “terrorist infrastructure” were hit, the military said.

The affected areas are Chabriha, Borj El Chmali, Beqaa, Kfarkela, Rab El Thalathine, Khiam and Tayr Harfa, it said.

Iran, which supports Hezbollah, has warned Israel against any new “adventure” in Lebanon.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s Prime Minister, had warned Hezbollah that it would “pay a heavy price” for an attack on a Football field on the Golan Heights Israeli authorities said twelve people, including children, were killed in the attack.

Hezbollah said it had “absolutely nothing to do with the incident.” It had previously announced several rocket attacks on Israeli military positions.

But the Israeli Foreign Ministry said Hezbollah was “clearly responsible” for the attack on the Golan Heights.

At least 10 dead in rocket attack

The Israeli military said the rocket was fired from an area north of the village of Chebaa in southern Lebanon.

Forensics revealed that it was an Iranian-made Falaq-1, said IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari.

Netanyahu, who canceled his trip to the United States after learning of the attack, said Hezbollah would pay a price “that it has not paid so far.”

Foreign Minister Israel Katz told Israeli broadcaster Channel 12 that Hezbollah had “crossed all red lines here.”

“We are approaching the moment when we face total war,” he added.

The United States said its support for Israel’s security was “an iron and unwavering force against all Iranian-backed terrorist groups, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah.”

The Israeli emergency services said 13 people were injured in the attack on the soccer field, which was filling up with children and teenagers at the time.

“It was a horrific sight,” said Idan Avshalom, a medic with the force.

“They were playing football – then they heard sirens and ran to the shelter,” said witness Mourhaf Abu Saleh.

“But they couldn’t reach the shelter because the rocket hit exactly between the ground and the shelter.”

It was the deadliest attack on Israeli civilians since Hamas fighters paraglided from Gaza across the border into southern Israel on October 7 to massacre 1,200 people, Hagari said.

The attack by Hamas, the Iran-backed militant group that controls the Gaza Strip, sparked an Israeli offensive against the besieged enclave.

According to local health authorities in Gaza, almost 10 months of war.
