After fleeing to Thailand, main accused arrested in Hisar showroom shooting | Delhi News

More than two weeks after the Haryana Special Task Force (STF) arrested wanted gangster Rakesh alias Kala Khairampuriya following his deportation from Thailand, his aide – wanted in connection with a shootout in Hisar – who was living abroad with Khairampuriya, was arrested on Saturday, police said.

Rohit, the main accused in the shooting at a Mahindra showroom in Hisar last month, was alleged to have supplied weapons and carried out a reconnaissance of the showroom, authorities said. Officials said he landed at Bangalore airport from Thailand and was later arrested after being brought to Delhi.

On 24 June, three defendants who were travelling on bicycles – members of the Kala Khairampuriya Gang — opened indiscriminate fire at the assailants and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 million in the name of Khairampuriya and another gangster, Himanshu Bhau, who also lives abroad, police said. They also threatened to kill people if the ransom was not paid. A complaint was filed at Hisar City police station under sections 307, 387 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Arms Act.

“Considering the seriousness of the matter, the ongoing investigation into the case has been handed over to the Haryana Special Task Force. The STF took immediate action and brought the gang leader, Rakesh alias Kala Khairampuriya, to India from abroad through legal channels and arrested him. He is currently in judicial custody,” a police spokesperson said.

Rohit fled to Thailand immediately after the incident and reportedly stayed with Kala Khairampuriya. The Haryana STF initiated the necessary legal steps to bring him to India by issuing a LOC (Look Out Circular), the spokesperson added.

Festive offer

“After completion of the legal proceedings at Bangalore airport, accused Rohit was brought to Delhi airport on Saturday morning. He will be produced before the court for judicial remand. During this investigation, a thorough investigation will be conducted to ascertain Rohit’s involvement in various incidents and the links of this gang with other gangs,” the STF said. This is the second action by the Haryana STF against foreign-based gangsters in 15 days.
