Bodycam video shows Hollywood police arrest of man accused of sexually assaulting woman in Miami Beach – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

HOLLYWOOD, FLA. (WSVN) – Bodycam video shows Hollywood police arresting a man accused of a barbaric crime in Miami Beach.

30-year-old Keith Hill Jr. was arrested on Hollywood Beach while attempting to blend in with beachgoers.

According to Miami Beach police, Hill sexually assaulted a roller skater on the Miami Beach Beachwalk last Tuesday.

Video released by Hollywood police on Tuesday shows officers handcuffing Hill on Friday after matching his description while walking on the sand with the man on a “Be on the Lookout” flyer from Miami Beach.

“They notice a guy who looks familiar and say, ‘That’s him,'” said Hollywood Police Officer Christian Lata. “They go up to him, confront him, talk to him and ask him his last name.”

The video shows officers leaning Hill against the police car while they conduct a body search.

“Okay, lean here so I can examine you quickly,” the officer said.

Officials said Hill was arrested for providing a false identification to Hollywood police officers and failing to register as a sex offender. He also faces sexual assault and kidnapping charges related to the alleged crime in Miami Beach.

According to Illinois state records, Hill is a convicted sex offender who committed sex crimes against a minor.

A chilling surveillance video obtained exclusively by 7News captured the crime. A man, who police say is Hill, attacked the victim from behind. The woman was rollerblading on the Beachwalk at 23rd Street when Hill grabbed her and brought her to the ground, police say. The suspect can then be seen dragging the woman into the bushes to continue his crime.

According to police, Hill fled on foot.

The victim was taken to hospital.

Days later, Hill was arrested by Hollywood police.

7News cameras captured Hollywood police officers escorting the 30-year-old suspect to Broward County Jail.

Miami Beach police thanked Hollywood police on Friday for their efforts.

“Through media coverage and flyers distributed by detectives, they became aware of him, arrested him and immediately contacted Miami Beach police,” said Miami Beach police spokesman Christopher Bess.

He remains incarcerated at Paul Rein Jail while awaiting extradition to Miami-Dade County.
