Orlando man convicted of sexually abusing three children

A 34-year-old Orlando man has been convicted of sexually abusing three children after an Orange County jury convicted him.

Eric Martin was sentenced to life in prison and two mandatory sentences of at least 25 years.

Martin was found guilty of sexual molestation of a child under 12, two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation and assault for sexually abusing three children.

Law enforcement authorities became aware of the incidents in 2017. All three victims said they were sexually abused by Martin multiple times over the course of six years. The victims also reported watching Martin abuse the other victims in various locations, including Polk County in central Florida and Alabama.

The Department of Children and Families began investigating the defendant in 2017. During a DCF interview with a doctor, Martin admitted to abusing a child and having sex with a child. Martin denied the allegations when speaking to law enforcement and said victims were being trained.

After a four-day trial, the jury found Martin guilty of sexual battery on a child under 12, two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation and assault. He received a life sentence as well as two mandatory sentences of at least 25 years, all to be served consecutively.
