LP District Chiefs in Rivers suspend actress Hilda Dokubo

The Labour Party has suspended former actress and politician Hilda Dokubo over alleged financial embezzlement.

She was also accused of abuse of office and violations of the party statutes, among other things.

The actress, who once served as Special Adviser on Youth Affairs to former Rivers State Governor Peter Odili, was on Thursday suspended from the leadership of her ward in Asari Toru Local Government Area of ​​the state.

In a letter signed by county chairperson Ajalamonia Ibama and secretary Lole Amacheer, county leaders said they made the decision after a comprehensive investigation into the allegations against the 54-year-old actress.

They said they had found ample evidence to support their charges against Dokubo. Dokubo, however, refused to comment on the allegations against her.
