Why was Milwaukee Bucks star Patrick Beverley suspended?

The NBA suspended Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley on May 9, 2024.

They released a statement explaining that his suspension was due to his actions during and after the Bucks’ playoff loss to the Indiana Pacers on May 2.

Beverley repeatedly threw a basketball at spectators and hit a woman in the head near the end of the game.

He later told an ESPN reporter that she couldn’t interview him because she wasn’t subscribed to his podcast.

Beverley then asked her to move her microphone away from his face before finally asking her to leave the interview circle.

This interaction led to ESPN “banning” Beverley from future appearances at the network.

Patrick Beverley has been suspended for four games without pay.

The Milwaukee Bucks were eliminated from the NBA playoffs after their loss on May 2, 2024, ending their season.

His suspension will be served next NBA season.

Who is Patrick Beverley?

Patrick Beverley is a professional basketball player. He was born on July 12, 1988.

He joined the NBA in 2013 on the Houston Rockets roster and was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2017.

In 2021, he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves before moving to the LA Lakers in 2022.

He signed with his hometown team, the Chicago Bulls, in 2023.

In the 2023-2024 season, he played for the Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Beverley is an unrestricted free agent ahead of the 2024-2025 NBA season.
