Police say the owner of a funeral home in Maine is under investigation for theft

LINCOLN, Maine (WABI) – Authorities say the manager of a local funeral home is under investigation for theft.

We’re told that Harold “Chip” Lamson, the owner of Lamson’s Funeral Home, is part of an ongoing criminal investigation.

According to their website, Lamson operates locations in Lincoln, Millinocket, East Millinocket and Danforth.

It is unclear whether Lamson is still operating the locations raided Thursday.

The Lincoln Police Department and the East Millinocket Police Department executed two search warrants Thursday, one at 7 Lee Road in Lincoln and another at 11 Tamarack Street in Millinocket.

It is alleged that Lamson misused funds from funeral homes through his business. No charges have been filed at this time.

Although police have received reports from several victims, they suspect there may be others affected.
