BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Ralph Wilson Park in Buffalo will soon have a pedestrian bridge that will be more than 260 feet long and will be accessible by boat.

The first barge carrying two sections of the bridge passed through Lockport on the Erie Canal early Tuesday morning. It is expected to arrive in Buffalo later Tuesday afternoon.

The bridge will ultimately be delivered on two barges in four pieces and will span 266 feet.

Ralph Wilson Park Conservancy Executive Director said today marks a milestone for the bridge, which will transform the park. New sections of the park, including the bridge, will begin opening in 2026.
