Cyclist hit and killed in accident on Cortez Road

BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – A bicyclist was struck and killed in a crash on Cortez Road Monday afternoon.

According to the report, a Chevy was traveling westbound on Cortez Road in the center lane approaching a crosswalk while a bicyclist was crossing the crosswalk from the center lane. The driver of the Chevy then collided head-on with the bicyclist.

The 45-year-old cyclist was pronounced dead at Blake Medical Center.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
