Shooting breaks out after vigil for former Prince George’s Co. students killed in car crash

Two people were shot Friday night after a memorial service for three former Upper Marlboro high school students who were killed in a car crash last week.

A man and a woman were shot outside Wise High School, Prince George’s County police confirmed to WTOP.

A weapon was recovered at the crime scene, but no information is available on the suspects.

The condition of the victims is also currently unknown.

The vigil honored three students: 24-year-old Khyree Jackson, 23-year-old Isaiah Hazel and 24-year-old Anthony Lytton Jr., who were traveling on Route 4 and Pennsylvania Avenue at the corner of Presidential Parkway on July 6 when they were struck by another vehicle and thrown off the road, killing all three men.

Jackson was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He attended Wise High School before playing for the Oregon Ducks in college.

According to ESPN, Hazel played at Maryland and Charlotte, while Lytton played at Florida State and Penn State.
