Investigations are underway after reports of gunfire at a Fort Lauderdale mall required the deployment of the SWAT team

FORT LAUDERDALE – A shooting investigation was launched Thursday after a call about shots fired at a Fort Lauderdale mall prompted police and SWAT teams to respond.

Shortly after noon, Fort Lauderdale police were called to the 3300 block of West Broward Boulevard for a reported shooting.

Officers arrived at the scene along with a SWAT team and closed traffic on Broward Boulevard for several hours to investigate the incident. At the scene, police found evidence of a shooting but were unable to locate any victims or suspects.

While the investigation is ongoing, detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to call FLPD immediately.
