56-year-old inmate found dead in Alvin S. Glenn

COLUMBIA, SC — The Richland County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of a 56-year-old inmate at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

Robert L. Moore of Columbia was found unconscious in his cell by a detention center nurse at an infirmary around 6 p.m. The on-site medical team initiated life-saving measures to resuscitate Moore, but to no avail.

Moore had no cellmate.
