Heat warnings and heat advisories were issued for parts of New Jersey today.

A heat warning is in effect for parts of New Jersey today as temperatures feel like they’re over 100 degrees again. Other places outside the warning zone are under a heat warning that also indicates hot weather.

Today will be mostly sunny and hazy with hot temperatures. The thermometer will reach 92 degrees, but the feel could easily reach 100 degrees. Some parts of New Jersey will be hotter than others, with overwhelming heat and humidity levels.

A line of thunderstorms will move through late tonight, just after sunset and during the overnight hours. They will clear by morning, but showers will linger in Ocean and Monmouth Counties for most of the day.

The high tomorrow will be 91. It will be sunnier in northern and western New Jersey. Friday will be pleasant with mostly cloudy skies, but still hot. There will be isolated thunderstorms and windy conditions with highs in the 90s. Saturday will be sun and clouds, with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Sunday will be just more of the same.

The National Weather Service recommends drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air-conditioned rooms, avoiding the sun and checking on relatives and neighbors.

Take special precautions when outdoors, such as wearing light and loose-fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to the early morning or evening. Take action if you notice symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
