Investigation launched after discovery of human remains in Shelbyville, Tennessee

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Shelbyville Police are investigating after human remains were discovered Monday morning.

According to police, a pedestrian came across the remains near Old Nashville Dirt Road, which runs north of Shelbyville. Officers arrived in the area on Monday morning, July 8.

As of Monday afternoon, officials said the remains had not yet been identified. The cause of death is also still unclear. Further information was not immediately available.

In a social media post, police said: “We thank you for your understanding and will update you as soon as it is available.”
