Police investigate three-year-old boy drowns in pool

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police Major Crimes Unit are investigating the drowning death of a 3-year-old in a Rockville

According to MCPD: “On Friday, July 5, 2024, at approximately 11:44 p.m., the Montgomery County Emergency Operations Center received a call regarding a missing boy. Rockville City Police responded to the call to Elmcroft Court, where the child was found at the neighborhood swimming pool.

Rockville city officials performed CPR on the boy and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Montgomery County Police Detectives have been notified and the investigation is ongoing. No foul play is suspected.

The child’s name is not being released by MCPD.
