Man dead after shooting in Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – A man is dead following a shooting in the 2700 block of Mountainaire Ave NW on Monday, July 1.

According to police, Roanoke police responded to reports of a person with a gunshot wound at 8:17 p.m.

According to police, an adult man was found with an apparently life-threatening gunshot wound.

The man was taken to the hospital by the Roanoke Fire Department, where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to police.

According to police, a suspect is in custody and there is no danger to the public.
