Euro 2024: Why was the round of 16 match between Germany and Denmark interrupted?

The round of 16 match of the 2024 European Championship between Germany and Denmark at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund was abandoned by the referee after half an hour on Saturday in Germany.

The incident occurred in the 36th minute when lightning struck over the stadium and referee Michael Oliver gave the signal to abandon play. The stadium later announced that play had been suspended.
