Murder investigation leads to manhunt in Letchworth State Park

ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) — Letchworth State Park is closed due to a manhunt in a murder investigation.

The website states that the park is closed “due to police action.” New York State Police told News 8 that they are searching for a suspect as part of a murder investigation.

Early Thursday morning, a man was shot and killed in his home on Pinegrove Drive in Irondequoit. It’s not clear if this manhunt is connected to this homicide investigation, but the NYSP says it is assisting Irondequoit police in Letchworth.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to avoid hiking trails and campgrounds at this time.
