GREENWICH, CONN. — I-95 has reopened in Greenwich, Connecticut, after an accident involving a tractor-trailer disrupted morning rush hour traffic.

The southbound lanes at Exit 5 were closed overnight and reopened around 8 a.m.

Traffic was backed up beyond Stamford, and heading north it stretched all the way to the New York state border.

Rescue workers were on site for several hours throughout the night.

Investigators said the semi-trailer struck an emergency vehicle on the highway and overturned.

The accident occurred around midnight.

It is unclear whether anyone was injured.
