Shots cause car crash in Lansing Saturday night

LANSING, Michigan (WLNS) — Drive-by gunfire reportedly caused a car crash in Lansing Saturday night that left one person injured.

Lansing Police Sergeant Brad Hough said officers were called to the area between Malcolm X Street and Washington Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

An initial investigation revealed that a person was driving along Malcolm X Street when shots were fired at from another car, causing the person to swerve and crash, Hough said.

No one was hit by gunfire, he said.

The driver of the car that was shot drove away from the scene. The driver who was shot was taken to the hospital with minor injuries as a result of the car crash, Hough said.

The police are still investigating the incident.
