Covington said Hubbard was arrested for the death of Dustin Grimes during a robbery at his home on County Road 245 on Nov. 4, 2023.

Jordan Cesar Hernandez and Auburn Renee Moore were both arrested and charged in connection with this incident. Moore was arrested on November 4th and Hernandez on November 5th following a manhunt that spanned several counties.

During a court hearing, Hernandez later claimed that a third person was involved in the incident.

Authorities said after Grimes was shot, Hernandez and Moore robbed his home and kidnapped his wife.

According to police, Grimes’ wife was able to escape the two suspects when they tried to force her to withdraw money from an ATM in the East Lawrence area. She ran to a nearby convenience store and called police.

Lawrence County and Moulton police officers later arrived at the home and found Dustin Grimes dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

According to jail records, Hubbard is being held in the Lawrence County Jail on $130,000 bail.
