Wilkes-Barre man arrested after domestic violence

TRENTON, NJ — The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ has issued a heat advisory and extreme heat warning for parts of New Jersey, including Western Monmouth, Ocean and Southeastern Burlington Counties. The heat advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. this morning through 6 a.m. EDT Thursday, with heat index readings expected to reach as high as 95 degrees. The extreme heat warning is in effect Thursday morning through Sunday evening, with dangerously hot conditions and heat index readings potentially rising to 104 degrees.

This extreme heat and high humidity greatly increases the risk of heat-related illness. Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, avoid sun exposure, and check on relatives and neighbors. It is extremely important to never leave small children and pets unattended in vehicles, as interior vehicle temperatures can be fatal within minutes.

Today’s weather is expected to be sunny with highs around 32 degrees and southerly winds 8 to 16 km/h. Tonight it will be mostly clear with lows around 18 degrees and sustained southerly winds 8 to 16 km/h. On Wednesday 19 June the weather will be mostly sunny with highs around 33 degrees. A light southwesterly wind will turn southerly in the afternoon at 8 to 16 km/h. After 2 a.m. on Wednesday evening, scattered fog is expected, with partly cloudy skies and lows around 18 degrees. Southerly winds will remain at 8 km/h.

The weather on Thursday will begin before 8 a.m. with scattered fog, followed by mainly sunny weather and highs of around 34 degrees and a southwest wind of 8 to 16 km/h. The night into Thursday will be partly cloudy with lows of around 21 degrees. On Friday we expect mainly sunny and hot weather with highs of around 36 degrees. The night into Friday will be partly cloudy with lows of around 21 degrees.

Saturday will be partly sunny with highs around 91 degrees, and Saturday night will be mostly cloudy with lows around 70 degrees. Sunday will be partly sunny with highs around 93 degrees. Sunday night will have a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with mostly cloudy skies and lows around 72 degrees.
