13-year-old killed in drive-by shooting in southwest Houston

Two teenage brothers were struck by gunfire during a drive-by shooting in southwest Houston Sunday evening.

The shooting happened around 8:40 p.m. at 8999 Lakes, 610 Drive, in Houston’s South Main neighborhood. The brothers, aged 16 and 13, were both shot and killed.

The 16-year-old was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 13-year-old was killed.

Officers believe a gray vehicle, possibly a Lexus, approached the teens. A person got out of the vehicle and started shooting.

Homicide detectives are currently investigating the scene.
