Coroner releases names of three teenagers killed in North Market car crash

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (KTAL/KMSS) – The Caddo Parish Coroner has released the names of three teenagers who died in a traffic accident on North Market Street early Sunday morning.

Devion Patterson, 19; Jamario Washington, 18; and Zaleia Young, 17, were all pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in the 4900 block of North Market.

The teenagers died at around 2:20 a.m. on June 15, 2024, when a 2005 Toyota Camry left the road and overturned after hitting a tree.

CPSO officials said the Camry was reported stolen.

The teenagers had an accident near McDaniel Drive.

Autopsies have been ordered for all three juveniles, and the accident remains under investigation. The case is being handled by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office.
